WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to continue the enhanced DUI enforcement initiative and target distracted driving and seatbelt enforcement approved by RS2023-18; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $50,000.00 from $600,000.00 to $650,000.00, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the Community-Based Traffic Safety Enforcement and Education grant by and between the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, in an amount not to exceed $650,000.00, and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to continue the enhanced DUI enforcement initiative and target distracted driving and seatbelt enforcement, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
