A resolution recognizing Heather Moulder, the 2026 Guest Artist for the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.

WHEREAS, the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, in Washington D.C., displays one of the largest philatelic and postal history collections in the world. The museum displays stamps, postal history predating stamps, vehicles, mailboxes, mailbags, and postal uniforms; and
WHEREAS, through the Guest Artist Program, the Smithsonian National Postal Museum collaborates with living stamp artists to create educational programs for all ages; and
WHEREAS, Heather Moulder designed the bluegrass stamp issued by the U.S. Postal Service in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Heather Moulder works in letterpress printing after being introduced to the art form while studying at Middle Tennessee State University; and
WHEREAS, after graduating with a bachelor’s in graphic design, she worked at Hatch Show Print for over a dozen years. Today, Heather Moulder owns and operates her own studio LordyMercy; and
WHEREAS, along with designs for the United States Postal Service, Heather Moulder has also created designs for Aretha Franklin, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and many local bands and businesses; and
WHEREAS, beyond printmaking, Heather Moulder is a musician, White Oak Program Coordinator for the Arts Center of Cannon County, and has led many workshops throughout America; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Heather Moulder for her dedication to arts education.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Heather Moulder, the 2026 Guest Artist for the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
