A resolution appropriating a total of $1,273,580 from the Nashville Public Library to various non-profit organizations for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool programs through the Library's Nashville After Zone Alliance program.

WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in accordance with the guidelines of the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, the Library has accepted applications from non-profit organizations to receive funding from the Nashville After School Zone Alliance program for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool programming; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to these nonprofit organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated One Million Two Hundred Seventy-Three Thousand Five Hundred Eighty Dollars ($1,273,580) from the Public Library to nonprofit organizations as follows:
$35,112 to Aspiring Youth Enrichment Services;
$160,160 to Backfield in Motion;
$46,816 to Beech Creek Ministries;
$24,640 to Bethlehem Centers of Nashville;
$40,656 to Church on the Rock;
$92,400 to Conexion Americas;
$83,160 to DYMON in the Rough;
$15,708 to From the Heart International Education Foundation;
$117,040 to Global Outreach Developments International;
$62,832 to In Full Motion, Inc.;
$198,968 to Martha O-Bryan Center;
$78,848 to Moves and Grooves, Inc.;
$33,264 to Nashville International Center for Empowerment;
$92,400 to Nations Ministry Center;
