WHEREAS, the Civic Design Center is a Tennessee 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to advocate for civic design visions and actionable change in communities to improve the quality of life for all; and,
WHEREAS, as set forth in the donation letter attached hereto and incorporated herein, the Civic Design Center wishes to donate to NDOT tire processing equipment and materials valued at $33,500 to enhance NDOT's tire recycling efforts and use of repurposed rubber materials in temporary infrastructure programs to create adaptable, cost-effective interventions that enhance Nashville's streetscapes and improve pedestrian and cyclist safety; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws 5.04.120.B, donations to departments exceeding $7,500 in value may be accepted upon approval of the Metropolitan Council by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation of tire processing equipment and materials, valued at $33,500, from the Civic Design Center to the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), pursuant to the donation letter attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That NDOT is hereby authorized to accept this donation for its use and benefit.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
