A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Capitol Police ("USCP") and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department ("MNPD"), for the purpose of reimbursing the MNPD for agreed upon law enforcement services.

WHEREAS, to fulfill its statutory obligations under 2 U.S.C. ? 1966, the USCP Office of Protective and Intelligence Operations ("P&IO") requires law enforcement support within the MNPD's jurisdiction in the form of protective services specified within the agreement; and
WHEREAS, USCP and MNPD desire to enter into this MOU to set forth the terms by which the USCP will reimburse MNPD for those protective services; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Capitol Police and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department attached hereto, is hereby approved and authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
