A resolution approving amendments one and two to a Detection and Mitigation of COVID-19 in Confinement Facilities grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, to enhance and improve the practices of confinement facilities to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Department of Health, to enhance and improve the practices of confinement facilities to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards approved by RS2022-1807; and,
WHEREAS, amendment one to the grant extends the end date to June 30, 2024, and amendment two moves unobligated funds in the amount of $304,271.00 from Fiscal Year 2023 to Fiscal Year 2024, copies of which amendments one and two are attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendments one and two are approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendments one and two to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Health and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, to enhance and improve the practices of confinement facilities to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards, copies of which amendments one and two are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
