WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution RS2023-1947 appropriated $10,000,000.00 in American Rescue Plan Act funds from Fund #30216 to be allocated to neighborhood needs through a community-led participatory budgeting program; and,
WHEREAS, a project that won through the community-wide participatory budgeting ballot process is a $30,675.00 grant to the Metropolitan Historical Commission Foundation for the creation of two Nashville Sites driving tours for North Nashville; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, as fiscal agent for the Metropolitan Historical Commission Foundation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That $30,675.00 from the American Rescue Plan Fund #30216 is hereby appropriated to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, as fiscal agent for the Metropolitan Historical Foundation Commission, to be used for the creation of two Nashville Sites driving tours for North Nashville as described in Exhibit A.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
