A resolution recognizing HomeStyle Bakery for its fifty years of operation.

WHEREAS, Home Style Bakery founded as a family-owned, full-line bakery on March 17th, 1975, by Beverly Edwards, and
WHEREAS, Betsy, along with her husband Mike worked tirelessly to provide Antioch, Southeast Nashville and Nashville proper with freshly baked desserts; and
WHEREAS, the bakery continues to provide custom wedding cakes, all-occasion cakes, and other baked goods to its customers in and around Nashville and Davidson County; and
WHEREAS, at its Murfreesboro Road location in Antioch, HomeStyle Bakery remains a family-owned business operated by a third generation of bakers; and to commemorate the 50th anniversary, have commissioned a mural by Antioch artist Brian Tull on their building; and
WHEREAS, the Edwards’ four children and nine of their grandchildren have worked in the bakery over the years, which has helped the business feel like home to many of its customers; and
WHEREAS, Beverly’s granddaughter, Sarah Mullis, has been operating the bakery with her husband, Michael Mullis, for nearly 20 years instilling the same high quality ingredients and exceptional customer service that Nashville has grown to love. The bakery has always been in the Antioch community and looks forward to many more years of serving the beautiful people of Nashville; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper for the Metropolitan Council to recognize HomeStyle Bakery for its 50th anniversary and half-century of community support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing HomeStyle Bakery for its 50 years of operation.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
