A resolution authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Goodlettsville, for the transfer of the Liberty Lane Service Area (Proposal No. 2024M-007AG-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services ("Metro") provides sewer service within the Liberty Lane Service Area ("Service Area"), as further shown on the attached Exhibit 1; and,
WHEREAS, the Service Area abuts The City of Goodlettsville ("Goodlettsville"),
WHEREAS, the sewer revenues generated from the Service Area are minimal and the sewer infrastructure within the Service Area is in need of improvement; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of the sewer infrastructure improvements outweigh the user fees and revenues generated by the Service Area; and,
WHEREAS, the parties agree that the Service Area and associated infrastructure should be transferred to Goodlettsville; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-101 et seq. authorizes the governing bodies of political subdivisions of the state to approve cooperative agreements by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government that the Service Area be transferred to Goodlettsville.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, is hereby authorized to enter into the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Goodlettsville, attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and incorporated herein, for the transfer of the Liberty Lane Service Area, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
