A resolution accepting a donation from the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission, to provide supplemental funding for a music venue study.

WHEREAS, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp wishes to make a donation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission, for the use and benefit of a study of independent music venues; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation letter is attached hereto and incorporated herein, as set forth in Exhibit 1; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws ? 5.04.120(B), donations exceeding $5,000 may be accepted and appropriated pursuant to Resolution; and,
WHEREAS, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp has a stated purpose to "maximize the economic contribution of the convention and hospitality industries to the total community by marketing and developing Nashville as a premier domestic and international destination" on its website at https://www.visitmusiccity.com/about-nashville-convention-visitors-corp, and is led by a Board of Directors, including CEO Butch Spyridon; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission, for the use and benefit of a study of independent music venues, pursuant to the donation documentation, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved.
