A resolution honoring Bobby Medley upon the occasion of his retirement as Voting Machine Technician at the Davidson County Election Commission.

WHEREAS, Davidson County Election Commission has more than 480,000 registered voters; and

 

WHEREAS, Bobby Medley is one of Nashville’s longest-tenured Election Commission employees and has announced that he will retire as Voting Machine Technician on August 31, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, Bobby Medley is a Nashville native and joined the Davidson County Election Commission part time as Voting Machine Technician assistant 1982; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1984, Bobby Medley was hired on full time; and

 

WHEREAS, in every election for 40 years, Bobby Medley has been a critical figure helping Davidson County voters exercise the right to vote; and

 

WHEREAS, Bobby Medley has ensured the rights of the voters through every major and minor event, such as the flood of 2010, since he started; and

 

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Bobby Medley’s 40 years of hard work and dedication and wish him well in his retirement.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

 

Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as honoring Bobby Medley upon the occasion of his retirement as Davidson County Election Commission Voting Machine Technician.

 

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
