WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a lease agreement, approved by BL2023-80, with Nashville Metropolitan LLC for the use of office space at 1281 Murfreesboro Pike; and,
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the lease agreement to allow the leased premises also to be used for public meetings of the Metropolitan Action Commission and its committees; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant Section 2.68.010(B) of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, a board or commission may hold meetings in private buildings or on private property if such board or commission is specifically permitted to hold such meetings by a contract or lease agreement approved by ordinance adopted by council; and,
WHEREAS, the Second Amendment to the lease agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the amendment to the lease agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. This Second Amendment to the Lease Agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Nashville Metropolitan LLC, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Director of Public Property Administration, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
