A resolution approving Amendment Number 1 to a sole source contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the University of Tennessee on behalf of its campus at Chattanooga (UT-Chattanooga) to provide partnering services for the Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) grant.

WHEREAS, RS2024-666 approved a sole source contract between the Metropolitan Government and UT-Chattanooga for partnering services for the SMART grant (“the Agreement”); and,
WHEREAS, as set forth in Amendment Number 1 to the Agreement, attached hereto and incorporated herein, the parties now wish to increase the value of the Agreement by $250,000, for a total estimated contract value of $600,000, and to modify the insurance requirements; and,
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Code of Laws subsection 4.12.060.C. requires that the Metropolitan Council approve sole source contracts “with a total contract amount in excess of three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000.00)” by resolution duly adopted by the Council by twenty-one affirmative votes; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that Amendment Number 1 to the Agreement be approved.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1:   That Amendment Number 1 to the sole source contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the University of Tennessee on behalf of its campus at Chattanooga, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2:   That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
