WHEREAS, on April 3, 2025, raw sewage and debris entered the downstairs bathroom of Charley Rodriguez's home at 3218 Cloverwood Drive causing extensive damage to the property; and,
WHEREAS, after investigation, the Department of Law believes the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government and recommends that the property damage claim of Charley Rodriguez be compromised and settled for a total of $32,710.71, and that this amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the property damage claim of Charley Rodriquez for the sum of $32,710.71, with said amount to be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

On April 3, 2025, raw sewage and debris entered the lower level of a home owned by Charley Rodriguez at 3218 Cloverwood Drive. The manhole in the property's backyard overflowed for more than 24 hours. Mr. Rodriguez initially contacted his Council Member instead of Metro Water Services when the incident occurred. Damage to the living area in Mr. Rodriguez's basement totaled $32,710.71.
