A resolution approving a term extension and project scope change to a State Water Infrastructure Program Grant and accepting additional funds from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services, to modernize and upgrade the Dry Creek Water Reclamation Facility.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services (“Metro”), previously entered into a State Water Infrastructure Program Grant agreement with State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, approved by RS2023-2118 and amended by RS2025-1023; and,
WHEREAS, the State has notified Metro that they have leftover funding that is a risk of being returned to the Federal government on State projects where the funds were not utilized; and,
WHEREAS, Metro submitted an amendment request to the State, asking for a scope change and to extend the grant agreement term and to accept additional, available funds, in a total grant amount not to exceed $115,000,000.00, as specified in the attached preliminarily approval letter dated September 3, 2026, (Exhibit 1) from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant contract change be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
