WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Council previously enacted Resolution RS2023-2001 which approved the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County ("Metro"), acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, to enter into an agreement with the United States Department of the Army for the Richland Creek Flood Risk Management Project in Davidson County, Tennessee; and,
WHEREAS, a subsequent agreement between the United States Department of the Army and Metro is needed to enable the United States Department of the Army to provide relocation assistance for citizens displaced during the Richland Creek Flood Risk Management Project (Exhibit 1); and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that that the agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the agreement between the United States Department of the Army and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, to provide relocation assistance for the Richland Creek Flood Risk Management Project in Davidson County Tennessee, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is approved and the Director of Water and Sewerage services is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
