A resolution approving a joint funding agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Department of Information Technology Services ("ITS"), and the United States Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey ("USGS"), to acquire approximately 9,472 miles of Elevation-Derived Hydrography developed from topographic lidar for Davidson County.

WHEREAS, as set forth in the joint funding agreement attached hereto as "Exhibit A", the USGS and ITS wish to collaborate to acquire Elevation-Derived Hydrography developed from topographic lidar for approximately 9,472 square miles, in the area of interest, at a cost not to exceed $100,000 to the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, the data collected will support a variety of case uses including dam safety, hydraulic design, environmental compliance and enforcement, long-range planning, and water resource protection; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated ? 12-9-104 authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this joint funding agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The joint funding agreement for acquisition of LiDAR-derived high-resolution elevation data, between the United States Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Department of Information Technology Services, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
