An ordinance approving an agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library ("Library"), and Lipscomb University for doctoral students to conduct a capstone research project.

WHEREAS, the Nashville Public Library ("Library") manages The Nashville After Zone Alliance ("NAZA") program, which is a partnership between the Library, Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, the Mayor's Office and over 30 youth development organizations to increase access to transformative learning experience during out-of-school hours; and,
WHEREAS, Lipscomb University has a curriculum in learning organizations and strategic change and desires to provide its students a practical, collaborative capstone research opportunity with the NAZA program; and,
WHEREAS, the Library desires to participate in the Memorandum of Understanding (the "MOU") attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit 1; and,
WHEREAS, approval of the Agreement is in the best interest of the citizens of Davidson County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Memorandum of Agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Lipscomb University, attached hereto as Exhibit 1, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That any amendment to the Agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least twenty-one (21) affirmative votes.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
