WHEREAS, the Tennessee Historical Commission has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $4,656 with a required cash match of $3,104 to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission, to provide funding for staff to attend the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions’ biannual conference; and, 

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the grant by and between the Tennessee Historical Commission, in an amount not to exceed $4656, and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission, to provide funding for staff to attend the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions’ biannual conference, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2.                     That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Historical Commission, based on revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves a grant from the Tennessee Historical Commission to the Metropolitan Historical Commission in an amount not to exceed $4,656, with a required cash match of $3,104. The term of the grant begins June 1, 2024, and extends for three months. The grant will be used to provide funding for Metropolitan Historical Commission staff and commission members to attend the National Alliance of Preservation Commission’s biannual conference.
