An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing public sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer manholes and easements, and to accept new public sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for six properties located on Cowan Street and River North Boulevard, also known as Cowan Street Trunk Sewer, (MWS Project No. 26-SL-114 and Proposal No. 2026M-038ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 2,481 linear feet of existing 30-inch sanitary sewer main (concrete), approximately 84 linear feet of existing eight-inch sanitary sewer main (VCP), 10 sanitary sewer manholes and easements, and the acceptance of approximately 1,229 linear feet of new 54-inch sanitary sewer main (FRP), approximately 981 linear feet of new 54-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 754 linear feet of new 30-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 52 linear feet of new 24-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 79 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), 14 sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for six properties located on Cowan Street and River North Boulevard, also known as Cowan Street Trunk Sewer, are needed to construct project number 26-SL-114; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2026M-038ES-001 on May 29, 2026, for the abandonment and acceptance of said sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer manholes and easements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 2,481 linear feet of existing 30-inch sanitary sewer main (concrete), approximately 84 linear feet of existing eight-inch sanitary sewer main (VCP), 10 sanitary sewer manholes and easements, and to accept approximately 1,229 linear feet of new 54-inch sanitary sewer main (FRP), approximately 981 linear feet of new 54-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 754 linear feet of new 30-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 52 linear feet of new 24-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 79 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), 14 sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for six properties located on Cowan Street and River North Boulevard, also known as Cowan Street Trunk Sewer, as shown on Exhibit 1 and 2, which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference:
Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.
Section 3. Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
