WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government and TDOT seek to enter into an intergovernmental agreement for the repair of existing pavement failures and resurfacing of 5.26 miles of Granny White Pike, from State Route 254 to Woodmont Boulevard; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the agreement attached hereto, the total cost estimate of the project is $2,086,800.00, 98% of which will be funded by the State, and 2%, or $41,736.00, of which will be funded by Metro, subject to the availability of funding from Metro; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b) authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement between TDOT and the Metropolitan Government, by and through NDOT, attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved, and that the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s participation is subject to the availability of funds as determined by the Department of Finance.
Section 3. Any amendments, renewals, or extension of the terms of the agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves an intergovernmental agreement between the Tennessee Department of Transportation (“TDOT”) and the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (“NDOT”) for the repair of existing pavement failures and resurfacing of 5.26 miles of Granny White Pike.
The term of the agreement extends until June 30, 2025. The estimated total cost of the project is $2,086,800. TDOT is responsible for 98 percent of the project, which is estimated to be $2,045,064. NDOT would be responsible for 2 percent of the project, which is estimated to be $41,736.
State law authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution.
Fiscal Note: The total project cost is $2,086,800. Metro would pay $41,736 or 2% of the total cost for the repair of existing pavement failures and resurfacing of 2.624 miles of Granny White Pike.
