An ordinance approving the sale of approximately 0.04 acres of remnant property located west of First Avenue North, east of Second Avenue North, and north of Van Buren Street. (Proposal No. 2024M-037AG-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government appears from the Davidson County real estate records to be the owner in fee of approximately 0.04 acres of property (the “Remnant”) generally located west of First Avenue North, east of Second Avenue North, and north of Van Buren Street; and,
WHEREAS, because of its small size, the Remnant has no commercial value and if retained could burden the Metropolitan Government with maintenance obligations; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the agreement (the “Agreement”) attached to this ordinance as Exhibit 1, the owner of an adjacent tract proposes to purchase the Remnant for its appraised value of $59,000; and,
WHEREAS, conveyance of the Remnant as contemplated by the Agreement is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Agreement is approved, and the Director of Public Property or his designee is authorized to execute a quitclaim deed approved by the Department of Law and such other documents as may be necessary to carry out the conveyance.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This property is located west of First Avenue North, east of Second Avenue North, and north of Van Buren Street. The remnant property has no real commercial value to the Metropolitan Government and could burden the Metropolitan Government with maintenance obligations.
