WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 211 linear feet of existing six-inch water main, and the acceptance of approximately 261 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), for property located at 4420 Taylor Road, also known as Sojourne Nolensville Apartments, are needed to construct project number 24-WL-75; and,

WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-074ES-001 on June 2, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 211 linear feet of existing six-inch water main, and to accept approximately 261 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), for property located at 4420 Taylor Road, also known as Sojourne Nolensville Apartments, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2.                     The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.

Section 3.                     This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution abandons approximately 211 linear feet of existing six-inch water main and accepts approximately 261 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), for property located at 4420 Taylor Road, also known as Sojourne Nolensville Apartments.

 

Tennessee Code Annotated section 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

 

This proposal has been approved by the Planning Commission.
