An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing public combination sewer mains and easements, and to accept new public combination and sanitary sewer mains, combination and sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for property located at 1221 Grundy Street, also known as Grundy Sewer Infrastructure (MWS Project No. 24-SL-138 and Proposal No. 2025M-038ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 136 linear feet of existing 10-inch combination sewer main (unknown material), approximately 242 linear feet of existing 15-inch combination sewer main (unknown material), approximately 421 linear feet of existing 42-inch combination sewer main (Brick), approximately 48 linear feet of existing 48-inch combination sewer main (Brick) and easements, and the acceptance of approximately 102 linear feet of new 10-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 65 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 154 linear feet of new 15-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 573 linear feet of new 66-inch combination sewer main (RCP), five combination sewer manholes, five sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for property located at 1221 Grundy Street, also known as Grundy Sewer Infrastructure, is needed to construct project number 24-SL-138; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-038ES-001 on March 21, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said combination and sanitary sewer mains, combination and sanitary sewer manholes and easements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 136 linear feet of existing 10-inch combination sewer main (unknown material), approximately 242 linear feet of existing 15-inch combination sewer main (unknown material), approximately 421 linear feet of existing 42-inch combination sewer main (Brick), approximately 48 linear feet of existing 48-inch combination sewer main (Brick) and easements, and to accept approximately 102 linear feet of new 10-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 65 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 154 linear feet of new 15-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 573 linear feet of new 66-inch combination sewer main (RCP), five combination sewer manholes, five sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for property located at 1221 Grundy Street, also known as Grundy Sewer Infrastructure, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.
Section 3. Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This ordinance has been approved by the Planning Commission. Future amendments to this ordinance shall be approved by resolution.
Fiscal Note: This ordinance has no cost to Metro. Donated easements have no market value according to the Department of Water Services.
