WHEREAS, as set forth in the preliminary engineering agreement attached hereto and incorporated by reference, NDOT and TDOT seek to enter into an agreement for the resurfacing and safety on SR-12 from SR-6 to near SR-112; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b) authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure, attached hereto and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved, and that the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That any amendments, renewals, or extensions of the term of this agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves an intergovernmental agreement between the Tennessee Department of Transportation (“TDOT”) and the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (“NDOT”) for resurfacing and safety on State Route 12 from State Route 6 to near State Route 112. The project will also include the use of flexible delineators and green textured bicycle lanes.
The estimated total cost of the project is $253,830. NDOT will be responsible for 100 percent of the project cost, or $253,830. The term of the agreement begins upon approval of all required parties.
State law authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution.
Fiscal Note: Metro would pay its share of the non-participating costs in the amount of $253,830 for the resurfacing and safety of SR-12 from SR-6 to near SR-112.
