A resolution authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing public water main, and to accept new public water main, for property located at 517 West Trinity Lane (MWS Project No. 25-WL-55 and Proposal No. 2025M-119ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 24 linear feet of existing 12-inch water main, and the acceptance of approximately 24 linear feet of new 12-inch water main (DIP), for property located at 517 West Trinity Lane, are needed to construct project number 25-WL-55; and,
WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M_119ES-001 on July 22, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 24 linear feet of existing 12-inch water main, and to accept approximately 24 linear feet of new 12-inch water main (DIP), for property located at 517 West Trinity Lane, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated section 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
