A resolution authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing public water main, and to accept new public water mains for three properties located at 1401 Church Street, 15th Avenue North (unnumbered), Grundy Street (unnumbered), also known as CCB Phase 1A, (MWS Project No. 23-WL-16 and Proposal No. 2025M-166ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 1,177 linear feet of existing six-inch water main (CIP), and the acceptance of approximately 11 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), approximately 170 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP) and approximately 1,003 linear feet of new 12-inch water main (DIP), for three properties located at 1401 Church Street, 15th Avenue North (unnumbered), Grundy Street (unnumbered), also known as CCB Phase 1A, are needed to construct project number 23-WL-16; and,
WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-166ES-001 on February 5, 2026, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 1,177 linear feet of existing six-inch water main (CIP), and to accept approximately 11 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), approximately 170 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP) and approximately 1,003 linear feet of new 12-inch water main (DIP), for three properties located at 1401 Church Street, 15th Avenue North (unnumbered), Grundy Street (unnumbered), also known as CCB Phase 1A, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated section 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extension, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
