An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing fire line, fire hydrant assembly and easement, and to accept new fire line, fire hydrant assembly and easement, for property located at 419 Gay Street, also known as NES Central Substation - Water (MWS Project No. 23-WL-272 and Proposal No. 2025M-069ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 14 linear feet of existing fire line, one fire hydrant assembly and easement, and the acceptance of approximately 18 linear feet of new fire line, one fire hydrant assembly and easement, for property located at 419 Gay Street, also known as NES Central Substation - Water, are needed to construct project number 23-WL-272; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-069ES-001 on May 15, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said fire line, fire hydrant assemblies and easements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 14 linear feet of existing fire line, one fire hydrant assembly and easement, and to accept approximately 18 linear feet of new fire line, one fire hydrant assembly and easement, for property located at 419 Gay Street, also known as NES Central Substation - Water, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.
Section 3. Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
