A resolution recognizing the 2022 Bordeaux/North Nashville Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee and Process.

WHEREAS, by Substitute Resolution No. RS2021-1201, the Metropolitan Council authorized the use of funds for capital expenditures in the Bordeaux/North Nashville region utilizing a community based participatory budgeting process; and,
WHEREAS, the district Councilmembers and the Mayor’s Office recommended the Bordeaux/North Nashville Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee be comprised of the following persons:

§ Judge Rachel L. Bell (ex-officio, 2021 Steering Committee Chair)
§ Wacinque Amistad Kaizen BeMende
§ Ericka Dixie
§ Winnie Forrester
§ De'Sean Keys
§ Erskine Lytle
§ Quinta Martin (Chair)
§ Debra Moore
§ Lagra Newman
§ Dr. Janet Parham
§ Kenyae Reese
§ Kaitlin Reynolds (Vice Chair)
§ Beverly Scott
§ Charles Scott
§ Tonya Sherrell
§ Haley Zapolski
WHEREAS, public events and community meetings involving Bordeaux/North Nashville residents, the Bordeaux/North Nashville Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee, and volunteer Budget Delegates have occurred regularly throughout the year and a final list of capital projects will be presented to the Bordeaux/North Nashville residents for a vote; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that following the community vote, the selected capital projects will be presented to the Metropolitan Government for action, as needed; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council desires to recognize the work of the Bordeaux/North Nashville Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the work of the 2022 Bordeaux/North Nashville Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee and Process.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
