A resolution authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing public water and sanitary sewer mains, fire hydrant assembly and sanitary sewer manholes, and to accept new public water and sanitary sewer mains, fire hydrant assembly and sanitary sewer manholes, for property located at 300 Rains Avenue, also known as Fairgrounds Wingrove Street Intersection (MWS Project Nos. 25-WL-60 and 25-SL-136 and Proposal No. 2025M-181ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 347 linear feet of existing eight-inch water main, approximately 508 linear feet of existing eight-inch sanitary sewer main, one fire hydrant assembly and two sanitary sewer manholes, and the acceptance of approximately 363 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 517 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), one fire hydrant assembly, and five sanitary sewer manholes, for property located at 300 Rains Avenue, also known as Fairgrounds Wingrove Street Intersection, are needed to construct project numbers 25-WL-60 and 25-SL-136; and,
WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-181ES-001 on December 16, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water and sanitary sewer mains, fire hydrant assembly and sanitary sewer manholes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 347 linear feet of existing eight-inch water main, approximately 508 linear feet of existing eight-inch sanitary sewer main, one fire hydrant assembly and two sanitary sewer manholes, and to accept approximately 363 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 517 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), one fire hydrant assembly, and five sanitary sewer manholes, for property located at 300 Rains Avenue, also known as Fairgrounds Wingrove Street Intersection, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated section 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extension, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
