A resolution approving an application for a Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use, Site-Based Program grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Beer Board, to implement a pilot Sobering and Stabilization Center to provide a coordinated, community-based response for individuals experiencing substance-related crises and reduce reliance on emergency departments and incarceration by creating a safe, appropriate diversion option.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice is accepting applications for a Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use, Site-Based Program grant, with an award of $1,600,000 with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for a Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use, Site-Based Program grant, with an award of $1,600,000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Beer Board is authorized to submit said application to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
