A resolution setting a public hearing for a proposed amendment to the Rutledge Hill Redevelopment Plan.

WHEREAS, a Rutledge Hill Redevelopment Plan consisting of a text, exhibit, and maps currently exists as previously approved by Ordinance Number O80-133, and subsequently amended by Ordinance Nos. 86-1131, 87-1695, 91-1520, 97-755, 97-754, BL2005-875, BL2013-377, and BL2014-699; and

 

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council desires to amend the Rutledge Hill Redevelopment Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, the plan and any amendments are to be undertaken by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency in accordance with and in furtherance of the objectives of Section 13-20-201 through 209, Tennessee Code Annotated; and

 

WHEREAS, Section 13-20-203, Tennessee Code Annotated, requires a public hearing on any redevelopment plan prior to final approval being given by the Metropolitan Council; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed plan amendment will be referred by the Metropolitan Council to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for its review and approval; and

 

WHEREAS, a legal notice stating the date, time and place of said public hearings must be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the locality where the project is situated.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

 

Section 1. That at the meeting of the Metropolitan Council to be held on Tuesday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan Council Chamber in the Metropolitan Courthouse (One Public Square), the Council shall conduct a public hearing relative to amending the Rutledge Hill Redevelopment Plan in the manner required by law, at which hearing any person or organization desiring to be heard regarding the proposed plan will be afforded such an opportunity.

 

Section 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk is hereby directed to have published in The Tennessean, being the daily newspaper of general circulation in Nashville, Tennessee, in the issues of May 13, 20, and 27, 2024, legal notices declaring that the public hearing relative to amending the Rutledge Hill Redevelopment Plan will be held at the time and place aforesaid in the manner prescribed by law after approval of said legal notice by the Metropolitan Attorney.

 

Section 3. That the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency be and is hereby authorized and directed to give written notice of the public hearings to at least one of the owners or at least one of the occupants of each parcel of property within the area affected by the proposed redevelopment plans, as required by law.

 

Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution sets a public hearing for the proposed amendment of the Rutledge Hill redevelopment plan. The public hearing on the redevelopment plan amendment would take place at the June 4, 2024 regular Council meeting. An analysis of the amendment will be provided in advance of the May 21 Council Meeting, when Ordinance No. BL2024-348, which approves the amendment, is on second reading.
