WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 720 linear feet of existing two-inch sanitary sewer force main (PVC), and the acceptance of approximately 866 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 804 linear feet of new three-inch sanitary sewer force main (PVC), approximately 832 linear feet of new two-inch sanitary sewer force main (PVC) and one fire hydrant assembly, for two properties located at Stewarts Ferry Pike (unnumbered), also known as The Cove, are needed to construct project numbers 25-WL-15 and 25-SL-39; and,

WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-084ES-001 on June 11, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water and sanitary sewer force mains and fire hydrant assembly.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 720 linear feet of existing two-inch sanitary sewer force main (PVC), and to accept approximately 866 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 804 linear feet of new three-inch sanitary sewer force main (PVC), approximately 832 linear feet of new two-inch sanitary sewer force main (PVC) and one fire hydrant assembly, for two properties located at Stewarts Ferry Pike (unnumbered), also known as The Cove, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2.                     The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.

Section 3.                     This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated section 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

 

This proposal has been approved by the Planning Commission.
