WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 108 linear feet of existing six-inch water main (DIP), and the acceptance of approximately 109 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), for 19 properties located at 388 Ewing Drive, also known as Ewing Villas, are needed to construct project number 25-WL-83; and,

WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-178ES-001 on December 4, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to approximately 108 linear feet of existing six-inch water main (DIP) and to accept approximately 109 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), for 19 properties located at 388 Ewing Drive, also known as Ewing Villas, as shown on Exhibits 1 and 2, which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2.                     The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.

Section 3.                     This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated section 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extension, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

 

This proposal has been approved by the Planning Commission.
