WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 960 linear feet of existing six-inch water main (CIP) and three fire hydrant assemblies, and the acceptance of approximately 1,006 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 13 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), four fire hydrant assemblies and two sanitary sewer manholes, for property located at 1717 Hayes Street, also known as VOCE, are needed to construct project numbers 21-WL-36 and 21-SL-84; and,

WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-182ES-001 on December 5, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains, fire hydrant assemblies and sanitary sewer manholes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 960 linear feet of existing six-inch water main (CIP) and three fire hydrant assemblies, and to accept approximately 1,006 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 13 linear feet of new six-inch water main (DIP), four fire hydrant assemblies and two sanitary sewer manholes, for property located at 1717 Hayes Street, also known as VOCE, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2.                     The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.

Section 3.                     This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated section 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extension, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

 

This proposal has been approved by the Planning Commission.
