WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in accordance with the guidelines of the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Homeless Services, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $500,000 with no cash match required to Step Up on Second Street, Inc. to provide supportive services and case management continuation for individuals experiencing homelessness; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) from the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Homeless Services, to Step Up on Second Street, Inc. for the purposes herein stated.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Government is hereby authorized to enter into a grant contract, attached hereto and incorporated herein, with Step Up on Second Street, Inc. for the amount provided herein and the purposes stated.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution appropriates $500,000 from the Office of Homeless Services to Step Up on Second Street (“Step Up”) and approves the accompanying grant contract.
Step Up will provide supportive services and case management continuation for individuals experiencing homelessness. Step Up case management services will include referring and linking to services and resources identified through the service planning process; coordinating services to maximize service integration and minimize service gaps; ensuring continued adequacy of individualized recovery plan to meet ongoing and changing needs; and developing natural supports to promote community integration. Step Up will report monthly performance and service metrics.
The grant term will begin on the date filed with the Metropolitan Clerk with all required approvals and end on June 30, 2027.
