An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon public water and sanitary sewer mains, fire hydrant assemblies, sanitary sewer manholes and easements, and to accept public water and sanitary sewer mains, fire hydrant assemblies, sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for 30 properties located on McClurkin Avenue, Emmett Avenue, Trevecca Avenue, Gallatin Avenue, Strouse Avenue and Douglas Avenue, also known as Lincoln Tech (MWS Project Nos. 26-WL-7 and 26-SL-13 and Proposal No. 2026M-089ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 1,084 linear feet of six-inch water main (UNK), approximately 436 linear feet of six-inch water main (Cast Iron), approximately 34 linear feet of six-inch water main (Cast Unlined), approximately 1,304 linear feet of eight-inch water main (Cast Lined), approximately 225 linear feet of eight-inch sanitary sewer main (UNK), approximately 452 linear feet of eight-inch sanitary sewer main (VCP), approximately 613 linear feet of 10-inch sanitary sewer main (UNK), approximately 627 linear feet of 15-inch sanitary sewer main (VCP), seven fire hydrant assemblies, seven sanitary sewer manholes and easements, and the acceptance of approximately 5,054 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 1,071 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 391 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 503 linear feet of new 10-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 365 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 587 linear feet of new 15-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 219 linear feet of new 15-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), eight fire hydrant assemblies, 27 sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for 30 properties located on McClurkin Avenue, Emmett Avenue, Trevecca Avenue, Gallatin Avenue, Strouse Avenue and Douglas Avenue, also known as Lincoln Tech, are needed to construct Project Nos. 26-WL-7 and 26-SL-13; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2026M-089ES-001 on September 10, 2026, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water and sanitary sewer mains, fire hydrant assemblies, sanitary sewer manholes and easements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 1,084 linear feet of six-inch water main (UNK), approximately 436 linear feet of six-inch water main (Cast Iron), approximately 34 linear feet of six-inch water main (Cast Unlined), approximately 1,304 linear feet of eight-inch water main (Cast Lined), approximately 225 linear feet of eight-inch sanitary sewer main (UNK), approximately 452 linear feet of eight-inch sanitary sewer main (VCP), approximately 613 linear feet of 10-inch sanitary sewer main (UNK), approximately 627 linear feet of 15-inch sanitary sewer main (VCP), seven fire hydrant assemblies, seven sanitary sewer manholes and easements, and to accept approximately 5,054 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 1,071 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 391 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 503 linear feet of new 10-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 365 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 587 linear feet of new 15-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), approximately 219 linear feet of new 15-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), eight fire hydrant assemblies, 27 sanitary sewer manholes and easements, for 30 properties located on McClurkin Avenue, Emmett Avenue, Trevecca Avenue, Gallatin Avenue, Strouse Avenue and Douglas Avenue, also known as the Lincoln Tech, as shown on Exhibits 1 and 2, which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference:
Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.
Section 3. Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
