WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Department of Human Services to establish and enforce federal and state mandated child support program guidelines for children born out of wedlock approved by RS2018-1190; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $975,131.00 with a required cash match of $502,342.00 for a new grant total of $3,950,889.80, and to extend the grant term to June 30, 2022, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment three be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment three to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Human Services, in an amount not to exceed $3,950,889.80, and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to establish and enforce federal and state mandated child support program guidelines for children born out of wedlock, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Davidson County Juvenile Court based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves the third amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Human Services to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to establish and enforce federal and state mandated child support program guidelines for children born out of wedlock. The original grant agreement was approved by RS2018-1190. This amendment would increase the grant amount by $975,131 for a new grant total of $3,950,889.80. The local cash match would be increased by $504,342 for a total cash match of $2,035,311.08 over the term of the grant. The grant term would be extended from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
