An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing public sanitary sewer main, sanitary sewer manholes, fire hydrant assembly and easements, and to accept new public sanitary sewer main, sanitary sewer manholes, fire hydrant assembly and easements, for property located at 1107 8th Avenue South (MWS Project Nos. 25-WL-11 and 25-SL-101 and Proposal No. 2025M-125ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 103 linear feet of existing eight-inch sanitary sewer main, two sanitary sewer manholes, one fire hydrant assembly and associated easements, and the acceptance of approximately 119 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), three new sanitary sewer manholes, one fire hydrant assembly and associated easements, for property located at 1107 8th Avenue South, are needed to construct project numbers 25-WL-11 and 25-SL-101; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M_125ES-001 on August 4, 2025, for the abandonment and acceptance of said sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer manholes, fire hydrant assemblies and easements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 103 linear feet of existing eight-inch sanitary sewer main, two sanitary sewer manholes, one fire hydrant assembly and associated easements, and to accept approximately 119 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), three new sanitary sewer manholes, one fire hydrant assembly and associated easements, for property located at 1107 8th Avenue South, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.
Section 3. Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Fiscal Note: This ordinance has no cost to Metro. Abandoned and donated easements have no market value according to the Department of Water Services.
