A resolution authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing public water main, and to accept new public water main, for property located at 1515 Wedgewood Avenue, also known as Belmont Cord Powerhouse (MWS Project No. 26-WL-26 and Proposal No. 2026M-048ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 146 linear feet of existing 10-inch water main (DIP), and the acceptance of approximately 147 linear feet of new 10-inch water main (DIP), for property located at 1515 Wedgewood Avenue, also known as Belmont Cord Powerhouse, are needed to construct project number 26-WL-26; and,
WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2026M-048ES-001 on June 23, 2026, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 146 linear feet of existing 10-inch water main (DIP), and to accept approximately 147 linear feet of new 10-inch water main (DIP), for property located at 1515 Wedgewood Avenue, also known as Belmont Cord Powerhouse, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated § 7-35-406(A)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extension, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
