WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 64 linear feet of existing six-inch water main, and the acceptance of approximately 72 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 32 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 383 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 476 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC) and eight sanitary sewer manholes, for property located at 912 2nd Avenue North, also known as Stockyards 900 Block, are needed to construct project numbers 23-WL-25 and 24-SL-127; and,

WHEREAS, BL2024-345 authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, improvement, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2024M-128ES-001 on October 10, 2024, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water and sanitary sewer mains, and sanitary sewer manholes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 64 linear feet of existing six-inch water main, and to accept approximately 72 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 32 linear feet of new eight-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 383 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 476 linear feet of new 12-inch sanitary sewer main (PVC) and eight sanitary sewer manholes, for property located at 912 2nd Avenue North, also known as Stockyards 900 Block, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2.                     The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this resolution.

Section 3.                     This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Tennessee Code Annotated § 7-35-406(a)(2) and Ordinance No. BL2024-345 allow the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to approve extensions, additions, or works by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

 

This proposal has been approved by the Planning Commission.
