A Resolution honoring the legacy of John A. Hobbs, the Hobbs family and John A's Restaurant.

WHEREAS, Nashville tradition, John A's, has announced its "last call" to its loyal customers, family, and friends after years of great entertainment, great company, and serving the best food; and
WHEREAS, John A's was established by the late John Anthony Hobbs, a native Nashvillian and sports lover, whose vision was to create an intimate and special Nashville experience through a family-friendly environment for all; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hobbs was the epitome of a successful entrepreneur who built his business empire from the ground up with integrity, dedication, and hard work; and
WHEREAS, he was born in Nashville on February 11, 1928, and at age 15 joined the Merchant Marines and served through the end of World War II; and
WHEREAS, he returned to Nashville to work various jobs and by the age of 30, he started Hobbs Construction Company; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hobbs and his partners built and owned four hotels, The Music Valley Wax Museum, the Cars of the Stars Museum, the Fiddlers Inn Campground, convenience markets, and countless businesses and restaurants throughout the years; and
WHEREAS, one of those restaurants is John A's Little Palace and after creating the famous Nashville Palace, Mr. Hobbs decided it was time to have his own 'little palace," and in no time, John A's came to be; and
WHEREAS, John A's and Nashville Palace are iconic staples that have made Nashville a grand city by bringing people from all walks of life together; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hobbs and his family helped build and develop Nashville's Music District and hotspots like Nashville Palace made way for upcoming artists and music legends; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hobbs' grandson, Barrett Hobbs, continues his late grandfather's legacy by restoring Nashville Palace to its former glory through his notable efforts and dedication to promoting music, supporting entertainers, and preserving Nashville's h...
